How do I rename a file using AppleScripter?<br />

Here's the pseudo code of what I want to do:<br />

rename &quot;path to file&quot; to &quot;path to new file&quot;<br />
<br />
But I can't seem to find the applescript equivelant. <br />

Please let me know if you can be of assistance, I'd like to do it without any user interaction, the new name is automatically generated and the original name is known.<br />

How do I rename a file using AppleScripter?

rename "path to file" to "path to new file"

Swift is a compiled programming language created for iOS, OS X, watchOS, tvOS and Linux development by Apple Inc. Swift is designed to work with Apple's Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks and the large body of existing Objective-C code written for Apple products.
