Change Bluetooth COM port from COM41 to range between COM5-COM8

I installed a Bluetooth device (OBD2 automotive diagnostic transmitter) on my Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop (Intel ual core; 2GB RAM; 120GB disk).  The Bluetooth OBD2 device paired to the laptop, and installed on COM41.  THE PROBLEM: Most automotive diagnostic SW requires COM8 or below.  I need to change the COM port from COM41 to COM8 or below to use the desired OBD2 software on the laptop.

Before anyone responds with "Device Manager/Ports (COM & LPT)/right click COM41/Port Settings tab/change to desired port", my Device Manager does NOT display a "Port Settings" tab.  Maybe that's the problem, since a "Port Settings" tab displayed for this device in the Device Manager under "Ports (COM & LPT)" would allow me to change to the desired port, and I would not be asking this question.

Thanks in advance

Figured out that the problem is the Toshiba Bluetooth stack.  I removed it and reinstalled the MS stack, re-paired all my BT devices, and all COM ports lined up in the single digits as desired.  The "Port Settings" tab in Device Manager also appeared, fully functional.  Case closed.
