Ok What do you suggest for putting a sound on a button?  I am working on the sound board on my computer and while adding the sounds to the buttons hit frame I chose to have the button "start" the sound as apposed to "stream" the sound.   Ok so what is the difference?  and when i chose to stream the sound it would not play on my computer.  I think it gave an error or something. idk the exact error because im at work right now.  But if I oublish it to the internet should the sound be streamed?

the way you are doing it at the moment is you have the sound embedded in the swf..so you start the sound playing with a mouse click..
if the sound is streamed..it is not embedded in the swf..but loads (streams) from the server when you click the button.
The way you are doing it now is best for short sounds as you want the sound to be heard instantly..(when the button is clicked)..if you stream it unless the user has a high-speed connection..there will almost certainly be a delay before if plays.
[it would not have played when you tried to stream it as you have to have the sound file separately on the server..so the swf can load it]

The same applies to say a song or voice over..with streaming the sound..it won't start playing until a certain amount of data has arrived..although it will start before the whole thing has downloaded..but again with a slowish connection you can end up with a stop/start choppy presentation.
If the soundis in the swf..it would play immediately and seamlessly.
