Avoid stretching on the wide-screen monitors
Hello,
I recently bought a wide-screen monitor and now some of my programs/games are rather stretched and look a bit awkward. Is there any way to change their display setting to see them in some "not stretched" mode?
I use win xp pro.
Thanks,
Yurich

thank you. If i set my monitor (display) to non-wide screen resolution (in display properties), it will just stretch a whole thing. no blank areas would be on the sides. how come?

OK, thank you. I'll probably refrain from using any 3d party software for controlling my monitor at the moment.

Merci
The stretched look comes from a resolution mismatch between the game and monitor.
Unless the video game itself supports the wide screen resolution in its settings there may be little you can do other than set your monitor to a none wide screen resolution. This would leave blank areas on each side of the screen.
Check the resolution settings in your game first.
