Setting up a system restore like on a dell system

I would like to set up a system restore that can be activated at startup thru a Control key sequence (like Dell does on there systems) can anyone give me any info on how to do this.

The best option is to make a disk image using a suitable tool like Acronis (http://www.acronis.com/)
You can create a small 'recovery partition' with Ranish (http://www.ranish.com/part/) and then use Acronis to create a compressed image in the recovery partition.

You won't be able to to a restore with a keypress, buy all you have to do is boot from the acronis CD and restore the image when you need to.
