Hi all ,

My DNS events log is full of the following warning events 9999 and 4521 which are :

Event ID 9999:
The DNS server has encountered numerous run-time events. To determine the initial cause of these run-time events, examine the DNS server event log entries that preceded these run-time events. The data is the number of events that have been suppressed in the last 60 minute interval.

Event ID 4521:
The description for Event ID ( 4521 ) in Source ( DNS ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: 9002, ..

Why these warnings happening too much this way?? and how can I get rid of them ???

    Accepted Solution

The first event is information that login to the event log was stopped.
The second event can be solved with the following command.
    dnscmd /config /bootmethod

    Good luck,

This can sometimes occur after SP2 is installed. As wwwally states running
    dnscmd /config /bootmethod
from the command line normally fixes the problem

This command worked like a champ. I have to say though the reason for my error 4521 showing up was that I was remotely managing the server and accidentally opened two TS sessions to the box and created the new zone. Upon checking the event logs I noticed the error. After looking at everything I went to look at the time and noticed the two connection tabs. Once I properly logged off of one of the sessions, I was able to successfully execute the command and load the new zone.
