Hi I have Acer aspire 9300 bought it from best buy runs good but now it tells me my copy of windows is not genuine this is displayed in bottom right corner above clock, whenever i boot up a message pops up saying windows aero is not working and that i may be a victim of software counterfiting.
I called microsoft gave them a long series of numbers nine boxes i belive. They gave me new numbers to enter they told me to reboot and messages should go away but no luck. They also told me to contact them again if it continues but i,m hoping someone has a fix.Note the numbers they gave me to enter is not product key number something else dont know.

The only option I know of is to contact MS again. WGA glitches are not that uncommon.

See if this is your situation -- at least you'll know you're not alone:

Well I fixed it I hope by resetting laptop to factory settings.
Now how to get points refunded?

Acer laptops have 10gb recovery tool so you can restore unit to its original state when you bought it ,this will rewrite  all os files etc...It also allows you to reactivate windows because it assumes it is a new install.Great on Acer to do this.

I recommend refund and delete. Problem was fixed with a clean install of OS from recovery partition rather than actually identifying/resolving cause. Nothing of any real use here.
