Routing Protocol Help

HI I have a few questions if anyone could help me out. First I need to know if you can get routing loops with OSPF and some of the measures that are taken with this protocol to help prevent them.

Secondly I need need to know several different common routing protocols, if anyone can help me. Also if you could lead me in a direction where I could find some good information about there advantages and disadvantages that to would help out.

Thanks

You can try these 2 basic info on routing and routing protocol as a start. They have further links to specific routing protocol information such as OSPF and RIP.:

if you have a small network with only a couple routers I suggest RIP v2

it's fairly simple to setup and works well. All you need to do is

configure Terminal

router rip
version 2
network xxx.xxx.xxx (serial interface network)
network xxx.xxx.xxx (Fast Ethernet interface network)

just do a network xxx.xxx.xxx command for every network you have setup on that router, typically 1 per interface. If you follow these commands for every router, they will start sending updates to each other and everything should work well.
