Display problem - Vista Ultimate on a Lenovo laptop

Dear experts,

On my Lenovo laptop, I have Windows Vista Ultimate.

Until few weeks ago everything was OK. Now I have a small problem, yet a little bit annoying...

After I open the lid and the computer wakes up from sleep mode, the display resolution goes down to the lowest resolution, and after few seconds (10 - 15), it will resume back to normal.

This causes my desktop icons to mess up - so I have to rearrange them.

What can be the cause of such problem, and how can this be solved?

Thanks in advance!

I had a similar problem on a Dell. The screen reduced to 800 x 600 in the top left corner.
Neither EE nor Dell ever solved it.

I got around it by changing the action on closing the lid to "Do Nothing" (the screen still switches off on all laptops)  and I set the On/Off switch to Hibernate - or you can set it to Sleep.

try reseting your desktop by  display to vga reboot and then change it back to the correct display
