Does the target server have the user database that you created locally?

Is the connection to the SQL Server valid?

   connectionStringName="LocalSqlServer"

Are you working with SQL Server Express, or some other edition?

I have had this error and fixed it. It is most likely caused by your Login control not having login permissions to the local database server. This can be caused by several things

1) Not the correct username & password
2) The sql database is located in the wrong place try putting it in "C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\App_Data"
3) The sql database is not initalised properly
4) the sql service is not running

The good news is that microsoft provide a configuration tool in VS2005.

You can access this tool under

Website > ASP.NET Configuration.

If the ASP.NET Configuration tool does not work then your know you have problem 4.
