could somebody please help me out here.

Reason is we are using a tool that is right now configured with the sql 2000 DE. To grant more than 2-3 concurrent users access I want to migrate it to ms sql server 2000.

But the migration tool that is available just seems to care about MS sql 6.5.

You should be able to simply backup/restore each of the databases onto the new server. Thats about the extent of a migration that will be required. You'll also need to script out all of the logins, which can be done in Enterprise Manager by going to Security/Logins, right click/generate script.

OK - I was able to export the database to a file.

Hot can I import that file into the ms sql server?

I see no way to point to a file as a source.

Did you export or backup? The easiest method is to just run a backup to disk, copy the backup to the new server, and then do a restore.

Ok I copied the database to the filder of the ms sql 2000 server.

Still it is not recognized, by ms sql server, even after a restart of the database service. Is there anything needed to convert the data or something?
