You have to use the volume media and reinstall Windows on top. An upgrade installation should be selected during the setup. There is no where to simply add a key and for the OS to work as the full product.

I found 2 things on this, one I wouldn't try without testing, and one that will probably work.  the one that will probably work is to boot the OS, then insert the install CD and do an upgrade of the OS.  Yes you will be upgrading to the same OS, but will be asked to submit the key.

the second thing I found is a registry hack that will force a timeout of the trial and supposedly then ask for the license.  Again, I wouldn't do it without testing.

Put this in to a .REG file, save it, and import it into the registry. our computer will force you to reactivate using a trial key or retail key. Here is the file text: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents] "OOBETimer"=hex:ff,22,17,f1,13,1e,4d,fd,a6,9a,7a,32 "LastWPAEventLogged"=hex:d6,07,0b,00,06,00,0b,00,10,00,06,00,0a,00,fa,
