I had a working SBS 2003 SP1 on a Dell PowerEdge server until a MS auto update to SP2 installed (without error), but now freezes/hangs at the beginning of the windows splash screen.

Before I re-install, is there another way to thaw this freeze? Is there a way to roll back this update? Is the recovery selection of any help?

Thank you for the links. It helped to see how many issues people are facing with SP2 upgrade on SBS 2003, but it did not answer the key question of the best way to recover...Like a manual removal of a failing dll etc.

I re-installed the OS, as the system would not even boot in safe mode.
