HP Pavilion notebook - Airport Extreme connectivity

Have a client with all Mac equipment running airport extremes which work fine.  one user purchased an hp pavilion with Vista that for some reason cannot connect to the airport extremes, which have checked all the settings upgraded the extremes to latest firmware etc and nothing at all.  Cannot figure it out although it can detect, it will not connect, we have made sure the encryption scheme is correct and are looking for some ideas at this point.

G'day,

What encryption are you using?

G'day,

Try with just WPA.

It works for me fine. I also have hardware policies on it.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Arthur

How far does the connection process get? For example, does it give you an error about the password, or does it start trying to pick up an IP address? Could be worth making sure the drivers on the laptop are up to date (although I expect you've done that). Are there any capital letters or unusual characters in the shared key? It could be worth trying some different combinations. It's also worth trying another PC if you can, or even a different wireless adaptor in the same laptop. We need to isolate the cause of the problem before we can solve it. ;)

I have an HP dv6700 and this does not address the issue.  Does someone have any suggestions?  The notebook has all latest intel wifi drivers, firewalls all turned off, os vista w/ v2 srvc pack, airport extreme v5 with wpa selected.  Nothing works to get this thing connected to internet.  To the airport, no problem.  Pass through to the internet, stuck.  Help please.
