Blackberry pop mail sync problems with Outlook 2003

We have had problems with Exchange and are currently using POP mail temporarily, when we now syncronise our Blackberry's using Desktop Connection Manager it sync's the Calendar Contacts and Tasks but not the inbox. The error that comes up is Email settings are not availble without an on-line connection to your messaging system, its obvioulsy still looking for exchange, how do we reconfigure the desktop connection manager to sync with personal folders in Outlook

If you like to sync mail with the Desktop Manager, you need to configure that it is NOT using Wireless mail sync. If your client has OWA on the Exchange server, then the best way is to add his/her email to the BIS website. It is easy, just use the e-mail address and the OWA password for the user. The the user get Wireless his/her e-mail on the BlackBerry.

Do you have a BES server ?

If not, then I am not sure how this is going to work.

you normally can choose which folder to Synch.

Pop3 will probably not recognize personal folders at all.

I hope this helps !

My Clients are just on the Web version not Enterprise can I take it that Blackberry's do not sync like PDA's and active sync which will sync you pop mail from a desktop cradle, it syncs the calendar tasks and contacts OK, is it just that the Blackberry Desktop Manager doesn't sync with (POP) personal folders in an Outlook client.

Many Thanks this is sync Exchange 'Public Folders' not pop mail client 'Personal Folders' from a outlook.pst file on a desktop PC so the link doesn't help.

As mentioned in the orginal mail there is no Exchange server all mail outlook  2003 collects pop mail to a local .pst file, we want to sync the desktop inbox in outlook (personal Folders)with the Blackberry, although I think we now have it confirm this cannot be done, it does not work like Active Sync and PDA's
