Sharepoint 2007 Helpdesk list. How to change forms

I want to set up a helpdesksystem using sharepoint 2007. I installed the template from Microsoft. How can I change the fields on the forms? I want to have only some fields on the "create form" and the rest on the "edit form" I don't know how to do this. When I create a new list, then every field is in the create form. Example

Title:
Description of Problem:
Answer:
Status:

On the create form the customer creates the ticket. So I just want him to see "Title" and "Description of Problem". When a supporter edits the ticket, he should see everything. So he can answer the customer.

You need to create a standard view, which will have just the fields that you want the customer to see. Set this view as the default view. You will then need the technicians to create personal views which give a lot more information, e.g. all of the columns.

This is a great guide on creating views and working with lists:

Thank you for the information. At first it seems to work. I have now just 3 fields when I create a ticket (but it doesn't matter which view I do it with). Now I got Title, description and Product on the create mask. I can't change that. Even when I deselect Product on the view it's still there.

Unfortunately, with the templates, some of the columns are obviously uneditable.

A possible solution is to do away with the standard form and create your own custom list.

Thanks for the reply. Anyway I tried that already. Problem is, with creating your own Form you can't attach files. I hope Microsoft will fix this soon.

You can attach files if you create your forms with Infopath Forms Services. They can also be browser enabled.
