My current Win 2k Server cannot use the upgrade function to install Windows 2003

Is there a way to get around the following error message: "Windows Setup does not support upgrading from Microsoft Windows 2000 Server"

I don't want to do a clean install.  Below is a link to the KB article

Here is your problem! Windows 2000 Advanced can be upgraded only with Wndows 2003 Enterprise.
Advanced to Standard is considered version "downgrade" and it's not possible.
Two possible solutions:
First, clean install,
Second, upgrade to Enterprise edition.

I bet that server you succesfully upgraded was running Windows 2000 Standard edition?

Hi!

No work around. Apparently you are trying to upgrade with OEM disk which is intended only for new installation on new hardware.

Are you trying to use OEM disk?
Which version of Windows 2000 are you using, Standard or Advanced?
Which version of Windows 2003 is your disk, Standard or Enterprise?
32-bit or 64-bit?
