My boss asked me to install a new server with CRM 3.0; my company already uses CRM 1.2. Everything done, but now, how do I transfer all data between the production server (1.2) to the new server (3.0)? All papers and tutorials I could find only refer to updating 1.2 to 3.0 on the same server but I couldnt find any resource about how to do this with a new server.

There are alot of good documents on how to do this.  I will post a few here.

First you need to run this on your 1.x CRM version to see if it can even be upgraded to version 3.

Good upgrade guide

Here for the data migration pack
1.  Install 3.0  (Some of these steps you may have already done)
2.  Customize 3.0 the way you want it (forms, new entities, etc)
3.  Export the customizations from 3.0
4.  Back up the 1.2 installation (database and custom web files).
5.  Export the customizations from 1.2
6.  Install 3.0 on the live server, then import the 3.0 customizations
that we exported from the test server.
7.  Migrate the data from 1.2 to 3.0
8.  Enjoy (Assuming that everything worked)

Let me know!
