How do you globally set the "Arrange By" characteristic of all Mail folders in Outlook 2003?

How do you go about globally setting the "Arrange By" characteristic of all Mail folders in Outlook 2003?

Somehow, all of my 100+ mail folders have been set to Arrange by "From" when I always use Arrange by "Date"

I would like to find out how to re-set them all at once without individually right-clicking each folder and setting it locally.

Greetings ogpete !

You can reset all your views with this command line. Go to Start > Run and type outlook.exe /cleanviews
and click OK.

Best wishes, war1

Hello war1,

Thanks for that suggestion, however I'm not sure if I should have used the term "re-set" in my question.

To be more specific; what I need to do is to just return all folders to being ordered by Date without affecting any other aspect of my view.

Will the "outlook.exe /cleanviews" command affect anything else?

Cheers,

ogpete

ogpete,

The command will return all views in folders to the default view, which is by Date.  If you have any other type of custom views, they will be reset also.
