LG DVD Region Change Problem - Permanently Set to Region 1

I have a destop in which has been installed a replacement DVDRAM drive. A LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM
GSA-H10N drive with firmware version JL12.

Region changes, not sure from where but possibly due to live music DVDs downloaded from www.the tradersden.com with no region code or region 0 DVDs have caused the DVD region count to expire and I am now stuck on Region 1.  I am in Region 2 - the UK and need this resetting.

Does anyone know how can this be done?

Cheers

Also forgot to mention you can try some region free tools without reflashing your drive, heres a few to look at.

Another tool is power dvd 6 or higher will give you some more regeons.
You could coudl try a trail version since power dvd comes bundled with dvd rom and is not free.
In power dvd options when you go to play a dvd it will offer the regeon if the trial works you shoudl then be able to change it. But if you have exhausted all the regeon  limts your dvd rom drive is really finished, the only time I know of to fix this problem is if youi have one regeon left.
No hacks will fix this either. If you try to install any regeon free tools on this drive with all regeons used it will just lock you out and the drive will no longer function at all.

Yes, Merete as the problem persists.

I could just buy another DVD R/W drive but that would be giving in to the so and so's who came up with this stupid 5 changes and you are out idea.  Fine if you are American!

PS For the sake of clarity I have nothing against Americans ...

If the tools I and other suggested did not work then I don't think you have much option. The whole region thing was imposed by The American film industry so they could make more money from releasing different versions in different parts of the world.
I'm Australian. :)
Roms have always had the regeon set to4/ 5 only. You can change them to regeon free only prior to using them all up. if you think about it, waiting till you have only one regeon change left then you can't go back.
With the rise of the internet usage globally the need for access to all areas is now becoming reality..
Products become out of date eventually you need to buy new versions.
They now sell regeon free roms included with power dvd 8 regeon free.
They have to make money too :)
This question has been fully answered. There is no resolution - but thats just the way it is sometimes. As stated only 5 changes are allowed by the device formware.
Hi Bandolier

Did you try any of the tools from http://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/region-free-tools, I've used a number in the past, I'm in the same boat being a kiwi in all so have had the regions locked, if you're considering firmware updates, just make sure the firmware is specific to your model.

Cheers
All, sorry for any tardiness on my part ...

Matrixnz, tried the freeware tools on www.videohelp.com but non of them help.  Did not want to try flashing the drive as would probably result in scrapping it!  Drive works for recording/region free use.
KCTS, perhaps this is a problem without a solution.

That all folks.  No solutions so will close it out now.

My original answe was correct
>> Officially you can't. You normally get 5 changes of region code and once that is exceeded no more are permitted by the drive's firmware.<<

The answer is correct - sometimes the correct answer is "You can't"
Not sure about that KCTS. Means that so far a solution has not been uncovered ...
Just to throw a spanner in the works, it can be done, but requires a factory reset usually via firmware update, also there are a number of tools like DVD Region+CSS Free http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-region-free.htm that will allow you to play the software region free, however that particular software isn't free to use.
