Not able to to connect to the server

When I try to view the entire network and click on my server It takes a long time and then it ask me for a username password.  Why can I not user my domain user account, the only way I can connect if I use my domain user name and password

The machine you are trying to connect to the server with, is it part of the domain?

We have a DC on a windows server 2003 enterpise sp2, clients we only have 5 and dhcp...

It's like I lose authentication and any one on the Domain I can not access to see the share folders only if I login again to the server and it asks me for a user name and password, I regain all access to all the shares and printers..?

I find when I have My network places->Entire Network->Microsoft Windows Network->Domain->Server

when I have the server opened and I can see all the shares some how it keeps me login to the server all the time? with out loseing connection

hi.
very sorry for late reply.
i think ,if DNS not  confugured properly then couldnt be this kind of problem. I think DNS  run on AD domain controler. can you  try  with following steps.
* clinet DNS address should be configure to domain controler.
* next  try ping to domain name ex.   ping  mydomain.com.  if it not reply. then could be DNS configaration issue.
* if any firewall software install then first  disable all( client side and Domain controler side)  and try again.
* boot client PC  "safe mode with networking "  and try  to connect , same problem ?
* can you access other client and  server using ip address exampls  \\192.168.2.5\
