Activesync - pc mailbox always wins??

Hi,
I've used Activesync for several years with an HP ipaq 4700.  2 weeks ago, the activesync on *emails* only went wrong.  If the 2 devices are both disconnected, and I delete mails on the handheld, then they are RE-inserted when they next connect.

This only affects emails, changes made to files on either device sync correctly, and if it is changed on both devices, then it asks which one is correct.  Also, if I delete an email on the handheld when they ARE connected, then it disappears from the PC inbox.

Other outlook functions (calendar, tasks, etc) sync properly in both directions.

Running Activesync 4.5.0 against Outlook 2003, sp2 on Windows XP Pro sp2.  Exchange 2003 back end, if that counts.

Stuff done so far:
checked Activesync.. Options.. Sync Options tab.. unticked and reticked Inbox.  Sync Clock on Connect is ticked.  Enable Sync with Server is UNticked (as I want it to sync with the Outlook Client).
Schedule set for Continuous
Rules.. set for Desktop: Leave Unresolved, Server: Always replace item on Server

have uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled activesync.  What should be my next step?  cheers, Danny

It sync's ok with my home pc for files and calendar/contacts, but it's my work email that I want it to pick up.  I guess I can try it with my home email just to see, or blow away my profile on the pc at work  (we don't use roaming profiles, so recreating them can be annoying).

I guess the first step is to install Activesync to a different pc, and then log in there.
SysExpert, all yours...
it's fine on a different PC.  So, I guess it's profile related, and I'll wipe that and reload it when I get a spare life.
