Are there any toos for doing regular incremental backups of the AD

I currently backup up one of our AD servers daily with Backup Exec 9.1, to complemnet this I also take monthly bare metal images of the server using Acronis imaging software.

What I want to know is ..... Does anyone know if there is any software available that will backup the AD regularly, on the fly, for example taking snapshots every hour, that would allow roll-backs/restores of the whole lot or selected elements?

Any recommendatiosn greatly appreciated.

RestoreAdmin seems to do what you want to achieve: http://www.bi101.com/products/solutions/netpro/restoreadmin.php

Or, you could just backup System State regularly to disk with Backup Exec . It cannot be done incrementally though.
Backup Exec 11d introduces a new agent (with separate license) that allows you to restore individual Active Directory objects from a System State backup. See http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/285880.htm for a bit more information.

What you want to backup is the System State data. I'm pretty sure this can be done with Backup Exec 9.1, in fact a quick search on Google shows you can.

I know in 11d it's when you select the machine to back up, you get a list of the hard drives then the system state option is below it in the list. It might be different in 9.1 though.`

Hi Matt,

I do have the AD backup running daily through BE 9.1   -  I am looking for additional software thet will snap-shot the AD regularly to disk  (I'm thinking along the lines of something rather like VMware snap shots).
