Account gets locked when accessing Citrix

We are running Citrix Presentation server 4.5 on a 2003 server;  with Windows XP workstations.  One user in particular keeps getting locked as soon as he accesses his citrix client (Windows Authenticated).  Otherwise, his account will remain unlocked.  I have tried everything I can possibly think of - changing the password back to a previous one, resintall his client (taking stabs in the dark), but the only thing that seems to work is deleting his profile on the Citrix server...however that's only short-lived.  The problem eventually surfaces again.  Any ideas?

I've increased the Point Value due to getting no responses since I've posted.  Thanks

Its not a question of points, its a lack of good ideas what could be wrong :-)

I'd change the authentication method  from Pass-thru to "ask user", meaning the user has to enter his username and password when connecting to the farm. (taking stabs in the dark, too... )

mpfister - that's a good possibility...unfortunately!
Not an ideal fix, but I'll give it a try.  Only there isn't an option to prompt the user - instead has text boxes to "save" the credentials.  Nonetheless, it's worth a shot.  We used to use this method before the pass-thru was available.

I'll let you know how it goes...thanks for the post.

This is a weird problem. So just for me to get this thing clear:

You have a Windows domain with XP workstations and a Citrix Metaframe 4.5 server / server farm.

Question: User starts ICA client and he can or can't access the Citrix apps? Or to be more specific: at what point does he get locked out? Immediately or after a while?
If he gets locked out immeadiately, is a user profile created for him on the terminal server?
If he gets locked out after a while, check for programs that are running on the Citrix server at user startup.

At the time he gets locked out, please check the Citrix server he logs on for events in System, Application and Security event log.
At the time he gets locked out, please check the domain controller(s) for events in Security event log.

Do you have roaming terminal server profiles?

Are you just publishing applications or a complete desktop?

He can't access - that's when he gets a message saying that his account is locked.  During the logon process at some point which is only a minute (he is a remote user so I haven't actually seen it in the flesh).  From the first time a user accesses Citrix, a profile is created for them and maintained on Citrix until it gets deleted by IT.

No roaming profiles.  Just publishing applications.

I had just deleted his profile off the Citrix server today - I want to see how many days until it locks him out again.  Once it does, I'll check the logs.

Thanks!

mpfister - I've had a breakthrough.  It's got nothing to do with Citrix at all.  He has an incorrect password stored somewhere and it's locking out his account.  He just realizes he's locked out whenever he logs on to Citrix.  But because you had me look at the event logs, which have triggered this epiphany, I will award you the points.

Thanks for your help!
