Exchange 2003 Store Issue.

I need help. I have (2) Exchange servers in which one is being elimiated due to storage issues. I moved all mailboxes from the Old to The new server however the old server is still holding all the space it orginal used. What would cause this since all the mail boxes have been moved?

Thanks for the Help!

Does the edb size same as it was before ? Usually its not reduced unless you perform offline defrag.
How to run offline defrag.

Best way is to dismount the priv1.edb and rename it ( delete ) and mount with blank database. If all is well then you may delete the renamed one to claim the space.  Any way this edb does not contain any data and its size is due to white space created.

Also just to make sure that you do not mess up .. shut the original server for a while and check mail flow for the moved mailboxes.
