HWIC port in CISCO 1841

I have a new Cisco 1841 router which has two fast Ethernet ports. Below are the details of its IOS.
Cisco 1841 (revision 7.0) with 114688K/16384K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID FTX1119W2T8
2 FastEthernet interfaces
DRAM configuration is 64 bits wide with parity disabled.
191K bytes of NVRAM.
31360K bytes of ATA CompactFlash (Read/Write)
Configuration register is 0x2102

Now the problem is it was supplied with an extra HWIC One routed port (Ethernet). But when I inserted it in slot one of the 1841, it is not recognized. In the SDM it says unsupported device and in the CLI mode I get the following errors.

"Smart Init is enabled

Can any one help me to solve it.

hi,
post a "sh ver" from the cli prompt, you havent detailed the IOS version, your looking for a filename ending in ".bin"

What is the model of the HWIC? Does it have an SFP port in it?

I am sorry. I forgot to add that. Infact I am not in the office now. But I did made a backup of the IOS the moment I got the router and i do remember the name of the file. it is :C1841-ipbase-mz-124-ic.bin (this is what got into my tftp). The version of the IOS I think 12.4(11) fc. I can post you the whole details tomorrow. But if you could just tell me the normal cause and steps to add a HWIC please do so. I bought this 1841 after cosulting with an official partner of CISCO over the phone and he promised me that the IOS version of the new 1841 should support HWIC router ethernet port.

I'm pretty sure that you need the T version of IOS for it to work or the Plus version.
