asking for remote Windows machine login/password in ASP.NET 2.0 web application

I am trying to access web pages of ASP.NET 2.0 web application residing on a remote machine. The machine this web app. is built and runs on is Windows Server 2003 with IIS 6.0.
When I try to access it from my Windows XP machine, I get a prompt for the Windows login and password of the machine (Windows Server 2003), the way it does when I try to make remote desktop connection to it.
I can access ASP.NET 1.1 web app. on the same machine without entering its login/password. What do I need to do to make it work for ASP.NET 2.0?
Please help. Thanks.

Check the Web.Config file for the type of authentication its using.  My guess is that its using Windows authentication.

Do you want to disable authentication altogether, or are you trying to set it up so that it uses integrated windows authentication, i.e. authenticate based on the current logged in user?

In IIS for that virtual directory, under Directory Security tab, click Edit, and ensure that the Anon Access box is checked. Then ensure that all web pages in your virdir grant NTFS permissions to the Anon user set in that tab.
