Does anyone have a script that will install a printer on an xp machine using \\servername\printername as the port definition? If I go through the printer wizard I would be adding the printer as a local printer attached to the computer. The next step would be to create a new local port and that is where I would enter \\cshsps01\hs201C for the port name. I would like to automate the installation of this printer without user intervention if I could.

Scripting printer installation

A scripting language is a programming language that supports scripts, programs written for a special run-time environment that automate the execution of tasks that could alternatively be executed one-by-one by a human operator. Scripting languages are often interpreted (rather than compiled). Primitives are usually the elementary tasks or API calls, and the language allows them to be combined into more complex programs.
