How do I configure the 877 wireless router for security purposes

I would like to configure the router for wireless use so that it is protected from eavesdroppers, etc.  The only thing currently configured is the SSID, there is no encryption.  I deally, I would like to know how to do this through SDM and the CLI.

I am using SDM version 2.3
IOS version 12.4(4)T6

Many thanks.

Yeah, as I said use encryption for wireless connection as mentioned in the above link and then you could use authentication of some kind (now even if the machines are in workgroup, you'd have user authentication to the system right ? So that would do.

The above link should get you step by step configuration.

Rajesh,

Many thanks for this.  Sorry about the delay I had a slight accident.

Will have a go at this and come back to you, if I have a problem.  I am not using a vlan - do you think it is better to do so?  Do you have any suggestion as to the encryption and authentication to use?

Thanks

Thanks.

I would assume by default you would have an AD authentication in place ? On the encryption select wpa, which is good as per this standard.

No - its not that kind of set up.  All I would like to do is set up the wireless router to enable a wireless connection securel.  Surely I can do that without AD?
