virtual pc 2007 Hardware Virtualization - not available
i am trying to install virtual pc 2007 on a new dell optiplex 745. it installs successfully and when i try to run it it gives me the messages i'm supplied. could it not be getting an ip address for the VPC 07' and failing at that point.
have you installed an OS to the virtual machine?
You have to install on OS in the virtual machine.

no, i haven't so now i need to install an os when it asks for the disk, i see I'll try that tomorrow and let you know ASAP.

i'm not sure i'm getting the whole concept. if someone can explain the process of installing from beginning to end i would appreciate it. i've installed it to the point that the program VPC is asking to "start" and from there you can select the OS you want to run. From that point what should I be doing.
Thanks,

VPC is emulation software, its like making an imaginary computer run inside a window. It has all the same characteristics as a normal computer. The emulation occurs at a hardware level so it creates virtual components for every piece of your computer (ie hard drive, memory, cpu, graphics adapter, even screen and io devices) This means you need to install an operating system onto that virtual hardware to use it (just as you would with a normal computer).
