Notify Operator Task not showing operators

In SQL 2005, I've created an operator on the server, but when I drag a "Notify Operator Task" tool onto design view and attempt to configure it, I receive an error message saying:

"There are no operators with email addresses defined on this server"

Clearly there are. I've also tried creating a new connection to the server.  What could be causing this?

Thanks.

Have you installed and configured SQLiMail?  It's a new tool that doesn't use Outlook to send emails.

Oh yeah, that's it, I think SQLiMail was the name for the beta. :)  DatabaseMail is the new name

Hi there -- I have the EXACT same problem .. and have done what barnesco states here myself (i..e set up database mail .. ) .. but STILL problem persists.  I note the "accepted solution" is to set up database mail .. but that's not it .. not just it in other words.  What else can we try?  Barnesco -- did you finally solve this ?
