Is there a good utility out there that can translate Word .doc and .docx into compliant HTML?

If anyone here has every used the Word 2007 "Save As: Web Page - Filtered", you know that it generates completely NON-compliant HTML code (good job M$ - geesh - slaps head!).

Why they have chosen to generate non-compliant html is beyond me (I think the whole M$ Offie Development Team was on crack, but that's just me).

Are ther any good tools out there that can translate Word .doc and .docx into compliant HTML?

Thanks!

Hi

Why dont you try word itself.

Type the text what ever you needed which includes all the formatting options, then while saving save it as a web page itself.

or please try these links

www.ehow.com/how_6228_convert-microsoft-word.html
www.ozgrid.com/Services/word-document-converter-com.htm
www.zapadoo.com
word-to-html.com
www.monkeyjob.com

etc

Dreamweaver has a good cleanup utility.  You open the page using dreamweaver you saved with word, then you clean it up using the command "Clean up Word HTML..." under the command menu.

Actually,

I've discovered that if I use the following DOCTYPE, it likes most of Word's filtered markup:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
