T1 V.35 Serial to Ethernet

OK here's the problem.  I have a T1 line in India which uses has this modem.
http://www.data-connect.com/RAD_ASM-40.htm

That modem only has a 60pin V.35 serial interface.  I would like to use a router/firewall that has an ethernet interface.

I have looked at a few converters before settling on this one which comes with the cables and power converter i would need.

However, when i asked the T1 providers they said that this converter will not work because you would need one at both ends of the T1 line.  They have also said they can not replace the modem with one that has an ethernet interface.

Short of finding a new T1 provider do I have any options?

You cannot connect a T-1 line to an ethernet network. There are no exceptions. If you want ethernet traffic to go over a T-1, you will need either a router or a bridge (with a serial and an ethernet interface).  The "converter" you referenced is actually a bridge.

A different T-1 provider isn't going to make any difference. Unless they provide the router (most likely at an additional charge).

So are you saying that the bridge/converter I listed will do the trick? You said I need a bridge and since that is a bridge whats the difference.  I don't understand why it would not work?

I would simply put the bridge/converter between the T1 modem they provide and the ethernet router right.

I didn't say it wouldn't work. I said "You cannot connect a T-1 line to an ethernet network." You need a bridge or a router. Since the device you referenced is a bridge, it will accomplish what you want.

I know you did'nt say it won't work. The T1 provider told me it won't work. I was looking for a second opinion because I did not agree with them. Thanks for your help.
