I have developed a few web applications in visual studio 2003 and I could drug and drop buttons and move them all around the screen. NOw I can not do the same with VS 2005. I create web site through vs 2005 but i can not move controls around the screen. I can drug and drop them but they stay at the top of the screen.

the default layout mode for the designer in 2003 was grid mode and visual studio doesn't support that.
Basically the old grid mode ended up putting everything in absolutely positioned divs.  You could still do that, but the designer won't help you.  You'd have to do that by hand.

actually I just found that there is an equivalent.  Go in to options and the html designer and css positioning and turn on the change positioning to the following for controls added using the toolbox, paste, or drag and drop.
