Need to configure a switch

My office is not able to get online. We have the modem/router and a switch and thats it. I called our isp and they said that the modem/router was fine, and that the storm may have reset the switch. my questions is how do I configure a switch

Shouldn't need to configure a switch. When you plug the modem/router into it, do you get a link light? Can you ping the modem/router? Do you get an IP address from the modem/router when everything is plugged in?

That's a low end self negotiating switch. It shouldn't be the problem. There is very little configuration with them and none that would keep you from working properly. Do you get your IP address from the router or do you have a server on your network? If you get it from the router, if you type "ipconfig /all" on a workstation can you verifiy you're getting one? Can you then ping the router which will be the gateway address listed in your "ipconfig /all" output?

I agree with Mikecr

check the link light on the switch when you connect your computer to it.
If you are not getting an ip address( type "ipconfig" from cmd ), then give your computer a static ip address. It should be on the same subnet. ( for example: 192.168.0.x)
Ping the router now and see if you get replies.
