I have a Compaq C501NR that I installed Windows XP onto.  I can't find the wireless nic drivers on their website for XP.  The part number is Broadcom Part# BCM94311MCGP.  Please send me a link or tell me where to get it.

I've tried that one already.  That one is supposed to work, however, after it installed I get the wireless nic icon on the taskbar and it seems to install the card, however, I can't see any wireless networks.  The card worked perfectly fine with Vista last night, however, I installed XP because Vista was horrible.  It's like it's installed, however, it's radio is not working.

It says no wireless networks available.  I have an access point right behind me.  I have two other laptops here and they see it just fine.  I got the same symptoms at my house too.  I just talked to the end user and they said that they could not see any access points at their house even with Vista on it.   I just found this out.  I'm beginning to think the drivers are fine and XP works just fine.  I'm thinking it's a hardware issue.  I'm going to put Vista back on it and see if I get the same symptoms.  I'll get back with you shortly.

make sure you are using windows wireless zero utility to configure wireless networks.

check in the services snap-in that teh wireless zero service is running.
Now make sure that the check box that says "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" under network card properties is checked.

knightrider2k2,

The driver I have installed works.  There is something else wrong with the laptop.  I have another laptop with the same card.  I swapped the card and got the same symptoms, however, the card worked perfectly fine on my laptop..  It's eigher the main and aux antenna cables (black and white cables that plug into the card) or something else going on.  I'm going to send it back to Compaq for repair.  Let me know if you have any ideas.
