FTP error

I was trying to upload a pdf to my site but I am having some problems.  The file is showing up on the local but not the remote.  I just tried to reconnect to the remote and received the following message:  An FTP error has occurred - cannot make connection to host.  The server gave an unknown response. Please try again later.

What does that mean?

Hi Aaron,

Unless you have changed your user account info in DW, it means your FTP server is acting up.  If you are hosting with an ISP, open a support request.

I am pretty sure that I have not changed my user account info in DW.  Is this something I could do by accident?

Unlikely.  You can always go into Manage Sites and check the information there.  However, if your username or password was wrong, you would usually see a different error.

I'm pretty sure your server is having some issues.  Contact your ISP.

Alternately, download a free FTP client (CuteFTP, FireFTP if using FireFox) and try making a connection that way.  If you can connect with another FTP client, it may be DW corruption.
