Does WSUS 3.0 have the ability to recall or uninstall patches that were deployed through it?

I'm using WSUS 3.0 and I've been looking around to see if you can actually uninstall patches from any computer that is part of the WSUS computers.

An example will be:

I deploy any number of patches to all my client computers.  I later want to uninstall one of those patches I deployed through WSUS earlier - can this be done? if so how?

    Accepted Solution

It depends on whether the update has a removal function.

Some Microsoft/Windows updates cannot be removed by normal methods - and sometimes the only way is a manual removal locally from C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKBxxxxxx$\spuninst\spuninst.exe (or batch spuninst.txt)

If the update can be removed - then you can choose the Remove option in the wsus console.
