Have been trying to setup an encrypted VPN tunnel between a Cisco PIX 506e and an ISR 2811.
When I use the SDM to test the tunnel I get the following error:

The peer must be routed through the crypto map interface. The following peer(s) do not have a routing entry in the routing table.
1) <peer IP address>

Has anyone seen this before? Can you tell me where I can look for information on how to configure the interface, proper? Better yet, do you have a config example for this that you would share?

If this is in a lab environment, make sure you have a default route statement on both the PIX and the 2811.

Dr. Moore,

Thank you, I reset the config on the router to the factory default, then configured the router using the exmaple config you pointed me to and It works!
