Measure CAL Usage on Win 2000 and SQL Server 7

Is there any way with in windows 2000 or a third party tool to measure SQL server 7 CAL usage ??

I have a Win 2000 Prof Box with SQL 7 and a 20 CAL package, I'm Upgrading but the service has changed so I need to know if I need these many cals for the new SQL server 2005 set up ??

I think what you will need to do is setup a job that runs and inserts sp_who2 data into a table daily to determine how many concurrent connections you may possibly have. If you are using the database for a web/internet i would recommend going with a processor based license instead of CALs.

If you go into SQL query analyzer and type sp_who2  it will provide you the connections/host and date time. This is basically a procedure that is built into SQL.
