Need script to pull Active Directory account information.

I have been assigned the task of providing a machine-generated report on our 2003 domain with the following information:

Account names, descriptions (which we don't generally use), password parameters, and account status. They are not looking for screenshots. Is there a script I can run that will allow me to generate the requested report?

P.S. I'm not really sure what they mean by 'password parameters'. I assume they are referring to the domain password policies.

You can pull this information using any tool that is capable of querying Active Directory.  Two popular options are:

ADMODIFY.NET (GUI): http://www.codeplex.com/admodify

ADFIND (far more flexible, but command-line only): www.joeware.net/freetools

I was looking more for a vbscript or something like that...This is a financial institution with several hundred users...not really comfortable installing freeware. Any other ideas?

Erm, VBScript -is- freeware - you open up Notepad, you type away, you hit -Save-, you run the script.  :-)

If you're looking for a paid reporting solution, there's more than you can shake a stick at - Quest and NetPro have competitive solutions, as does the DotNetFactory and any number of other partners.

For examples of pulling AD account information using VBScript, any number of templates available here:

Any can be customized depending on the exact information you're looking to pull.
