Wireless Optical Mouse Problems

I have a microsoft wireless notebook optical mouse 4000 which just started to act strange.  It stops working when my laptop is at work on a docking station, (it stalls and then comes back again).  But it's perfectly fine at home.  Not sure if the docking station has anything to do with it or not.

I take it you've resynced it by pressing the Connect buttons again - on the usb connector first, then on the mouse.

And changed the batteries too?

can you use the docking station in a different location at all?

I've changed the batteries and using it w/o the docking station isn't really an option - I need to lock it while at work. What Connect buttons?  Can we talk about it interfacing with something else?  I thought about that but don't know what else it could be.  I stopped putting my cell phone on my desk but other than that there's nothing else.  At home where it works fine, it's right next to my other laptop and I never get any interference.
