USB flash drive is 4gb + 4 gb

I'm looking to buy a usb flash drive that advertises a 4 GB + 4 GB combo for a total of 8 GB on one stick. Am I really getting a 8 GB drive where the data is stored continious or is my data going to be devided and show as seperate drive?

The manufacturer is in China and trying to comunicate with them is not easy.  I received a stick and it registers as one unit of 8 GB and not two seperate 4 GB

Thanks
