DIV over Embeded windows media player

Has anybody found a crossbrowser solution (IE and FF at least) in positioning a div tag (ie tooltip or a dhtml menu) OVER an embedded Windows Media Player? Z-index doesnt work and adding "WindowlessVideo" only works on IE.

WMP can't contribute to any crossbrowser solution because of its microsoftish nature, unfortunately.
It is well-known bug (or "feature") for activex objects. No solution, afaik, because the object overlays itself on your rendered webpage, thus ignoring Z.

As far as I know WMP will always force its way through the layers. A solution which is quite often used, is to hide the div in which the player is located and then show the layer with eg a menu.

Another solution which is 'easier' is to design your page in such a way that any layers which will 'float' on top of your page never overlay the WMP.

But there are no real solutions to your problem... just workarounds.
