Generic Runtime Error on Design Table from SQL Server Enterprise Manager

Hi,

I am getting a runtime error in the enterprise manager when I try to go to the design of a table.  There is no error number.  The error is thrown from the C++ runtime library on the mmc.exe.  This is SQL Server 2000, service pack 4.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

What does the error say?

The title bar says "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library".  The rest of the message says:

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmc.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

There is an OK button under that.

Ah.  I remember long ago there was an incompatible MDAC dll or something that would at times cause that.  I remember the solution at the time was to simply run windows update and update the MDAC libraries.

Side-note: MDAC makes up the components that are used to connect to various databases.  Seems 2.8 is the latest:

You could also try installing the Service Pack again to make sure some other "update" didn't overwrite a dll needed for Enterprise Manager to run.
