You are definitely going to need to elaborate further on this one. Also, please make a note on your grammar and spelling, b/c your questions are rather difficult to read.

i will be more than happy to elaborate.  I have a couple of accounts that use pop to have a seperate account in outlook to send and rfecieve from one of there aliases. this works fine when in teh office but when on VPN it does not work
Ok, when they do a send/receive, are there any errors in the details section of the dialog box? Or event viewer? Also, is your pop3 have a public facing IP address that they could test, instead of going through the VPN?
no it is closed off they have to go through the vpn. They say when they send it from home through the vPN it just sits in the outbox, I will find out if there are any errors?
When they click send receive, (if this is Outlook 2k3) have them click on Tools menu -> Send/Receive -> Send/Receive settings -> Show Progress. Then have them manually click 'Send/Receive' again. After it completes, ask the use to check the 'Error' tab of the Send/Receive Details window that popped up. See if there are any connection issues.
Also, make sure your firewall is not blocking POP3 over your VPN.
will do and post back
i asked and they were not sure. they said the mail just stays in there outbox untill they get to work and plug in?
The error messages (or lack there of) are important, b/c that will tell us if they are not connected with the server. Are they receiving mail, or is it that not functional either?

Were there any changes made to the VPN, firewall, Exchange server, or clients as of late?

Was this working before, or is this in testing and it has yet to work?

And did you check your firewall settings?
everything was working nothing has changed, and they are connected because they use the reguler exchaneg connection as well as the pop account in outlook at the reguler connection works but the pop does not
OK, lets take an inventory here...

So, you have multiple (correct?) users attempting to access the exchange system through Outlook 2k3 over a VPN setup.

They access both an Exchange account and a POP3 account, however over the VPN, the Exchange access works fine, but the POP3 does not work at ALL (no send, no receive).

You are not getting any errors what so ever.

Suddenly, NO users can access the POP3 accounts, but Exchange accounts function fine. No changes to the system what so ever, not firewall, not corporate-wide patches, not Exchange.

Is this all correct?
yes all correct and the pop works find onsite. I am going to check this from hom tonight with my own setup but any help would be great

i found it was that they were using the dns name and not the ip, I put the i[ and it started working. quick question though when I click send recieve it started downloading all teh messages that were already downloaded
That can happen if you've changed your settings and turned off 'Cached Exchange Mode'...you may wish to open another question for this one though if it persists.
