So basically I have 4-5 physical servers running about 40 virtual servers. This is about a TB of disk space total being used up. As far as backing up, we really don't do backups on virtual servesr, but now I would like to. it doesn't make sense to buy a high end NAS solution if its just me doing manual backups. would it make sense to just get a TB external HD, plug it in and copy the virtual server images to it?

or are there better options
