Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I found that I also had to delete the associated SQL database for the search service in order to restart the service after this procedure. Upon restrt of the service it rebuilt the database.

I had the same problem. The issue was that my account in Active Directory needed "refreshed". Try updating one of the properties for the account and then see if that corrects the problem. I believe the SID for the account is not correct.

If that does not fix your problem let me know, I have some other ideas.
