Anyway - do you know if I need to install the windows version to the VM's or will the VMware version of PCNS allow pwerdown of the VM's also?<br />

I have installed APC powerchute network shutdown on 5 Dell 1955 blade servers running VMware ESX 3.0.1. I have also installed the windows version on all VM's hosted by those servers.<br />
<br />
I have two questions:<br />
1. &nbsp;How do you test it to make sure it will work during a power outage? &nbsp;Are we suppsed to just believe it?<br />
2. Must you install the Windows version on the VM's or will VMware ESX server automatically shutdown the VM's &nbsp;when it receives the shutdown signal?<br />
