windows XP IP Addressing

Hi: I have 5 windows XP computers connected by router. I am trying to assign the following IP address on each computer. Can any one please tell me my settings are correct or wrong? Default gateway and DNS Server settings I dont know what is the use of it so i define same on all computer.

IP Addresses on each computer
1. 10.1.1.10
2. 10.1.1.11
3. 10.1.1.12
4. 10.1.1.13
5. 10.1.1.14

Same subnet mask to all 5 computer
255.0.0.0

Same Default gateway to all 5 computers
10.1.1.1

Same DNS server address to all 5 computers
Preferred DNS Server: 10.1.1.2
Alternate DNS Server: 10.1.1.3
